Trudy Ager is an actor known for her charisma and idiosyncratic acting roles. Most recently, she appeared in Very Excellent Mr. Dundee (2020); and the Governor's wife in the dramatic TV series, Picnic at Hanging Rock (2018). Trudy enjoys roles which are funny and witty but also neurotic and energetic roles. Her love of comedy grew from a young age watching classic TV sitcoms. Trudy continues to train with Director, Kim Farrant, who she credits for discovering a deeper level of character awareness. She has also worked with Howard Fine and extensively with Casting Director Greg Apps. While in Melbourne, she has studied at TAFTA and with Anna McCrossin-Owen. After being raised in the country town of Narrabri in New South Wales, Trudy relished travelling extensively while working in the aviation industry. She is now based in Victoria, Australia with her family and Golden Retriever and is actively involved in the Melbourne acting community.

Trudy's background is in Sales and Distribution. In the late 1990s she founded a distribution company to release Kinowelt and New Line Cinema titles in Romania. Crescendo Films successfully released titles like Austin Powers, The Cell, The Bachelor, Final Destination among others. As a filmmaker, Trudy started her career in 2001, in London, working on over thirty short films as a First Assistant Director and Co-producer. Three years later, Trudy set up Red Pictures Ltd, an independent production company, to develop feature length screenplays. Her most successful collaboration was with the writer Roberto Trippini and led to Trudy co-writing and producing Are You Ready For Love?, a romantic comedy produced at Carnaby Films and distributed in England by Sony Pictures Classics. The film received five awards at the prestigious Monaco Film Festival in 2006, including Best Screenplay. At Carnaby, Trudy also produced Dolphins, (released in the US under Octane by Lionsgate) the fast-paced car-chasing film, co-produced the psychological thriller, Daddy's Girl (released in the US as Cravings by Grindhouse Entertainment) and was the Assistant Producer on The Last Drop (released in the UK by Sony Pictures Classics). To focus more on writing and directing, Trudy left Carnaby Films in 2007. The short film, Road to Damascus, with a nonlinear storyline about the racial judgements we encounter in our lives, marked Trudy's debut as a Director. In 2007 Trudy started shooting LoveTalk, an uplifting feature documentary about love and relationships. For the film, she interviewed 25 of the world's top experts in the area of love and relationships, including best seller authors John Gray, Helen Fisher, Ian Kerner, Lillian Glass, Leil Lowndes. The film was completed in 2009 and became a 'must see' movie for anyone interested to transform their relationships. A reality TV show is in development in Los Angeles. In 2010 Trudy optioned the short screenplay, The Boy Who Became King, after reading it on inktip.com. The script is a beautiful tale of life's lessons told to a seven year old by his grandfather and was a finalist at the American Gems screenplay competition in 2008. The film had its World Premiere at the Lady Filmmakers Film Festival in Santa Monica, California where it won the Audience Award and the Festival Director's Choice Award in October 2010. The Boy Who Became King was also in competition at the LA Shorts Film Fest in Los Angeles and at the Women International Film Festival in South Florida in 2011. Also in 2010 Trudy shot and directed Swan, One Man's Journey...., an empowering documentary about the celebrated filmmaker Andy Swan. The film was produced by Area 9 Productions and was given the Alan Bailey Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at the Action on Film International Film Festival in July 2010 in Pasadena. In 2011 Trudy shot Keeping Amy, a comedy about dysfunctional relationships as a ten minute promo for the feature version. The film was shown in the official selection at the Action On Film International Film Festival in July 2011. Trudy has a number of projects she is currently developing, among them Broken Doll, an edgy drama, written by Mark Hefti, a psychological thriller, Summerland, in partnership with award winning actress Christy Lee Hughes. With writers Darien Curry and Randall Hooper, Trudy is setting up Thanks For Giving, a hilarious family comedy set over the Thanksgiving holiday. With writer Michael Phillips, Trudy is developing a family comedy Three Days with the Reubens, and with writer Vanessa Gil, Trudy is co-producing The Edge of Awakening, a powerful fantasy adventure story set in 2180, about one man's journey to fulfill his destiny and restore the world to its former glory.
