Born on February 9th, 1990, in Ipswich, Australia, Nicholas took a liking to movies from a young age. A shy child, he was encouraged to be involved in school plays as a teenager, once high school finished in 2008, he studied an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Stage Acting for two years in Brisbane. Here he learned to be more vocal; establishing new friendships; learning more about and respecting acting as a craft. Over the years he's had the lead and support roles in the short films; High Risk; Shadows of a Murder; Courtly; Bro; and Concupiscence. Including extra's work in feature Film and TV with recent performances including; Hoges: The Paul Hogan Story (2017); Thor: Ragnarok (2017); and ABC TV's Harrow (2018), Episode 5: Non Sum Qualis Eram. As of 2016, Nicholas is studying a BFA in Film Production, working on such key aspects; script writing; camera assistant/focus puller; runner; data wrangler. In 2018, he began writing his first feature film script, predicting it being marketable in the next six months. Outside his passion for acting, Nicholas Loves to write, read, play drums, travel and simply embrace the world around him.

Nicholas remembers casting directors really enjoyed hearing him gripe/joke about his dating woes. Nicholas will never forget working with Russell Peters and Carol Burnett. Nicholas appeared as Interviewer #3 in Women Is Losers (Dir. Lissette Feliciano, HBOMax 2021). Women Is Losers premiered at SXSW March 16, 2021. Nicholas Carella is an award-winning creator, actor, writer and producer who is relentless in his pursuit of exciting projects. Right after graduation, Nicholas founded Ante-M Theatre (with Michelle Ouellet) and produced independent theatre productions in Toronto for nearly a decade, including the Canadian Premiere of Michael John LaChiusa's musical "Hello Again". In 2009, Nicholas was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Screenplay (with Vince Gabriele) for his feature film-writing debut, "Hooked on Speedman", which was distributed by Entertainment One and enjoyed a decade long broadcast license in North America. In 2011, Nicholas co-founded Sociable Films with Michelle Ouellet and Ali Liebert, and produced Sociable Films' flagship feature film, "Afterparty", distributed by Mongrel Media. Nicholas has also made his mark in the ever-growing realm of Digital Media, serving as head-writer and showrunner of the Canadian Screen Award-nominated and Leo Award-winning web-series "The True Heroines", and is the co-creator (with David Milchard) of the IPF and Telus funded, Leo Award Nominated digital series "Paranormal Solutions Inc." Concurrently with his career in writing and producing, Nicholas has appeared in more than sixty television shows and movies garnering a number of award nominations including Best Actor at the Canadian Comedy Awards for "Hooked on Speedman" and Best Supporting Actor at the Leo Awards for "Afterparty". He started his acting career with "The Famous Jett Jackson" and "Odyssey 5", and has since earned recurring role credits on shows like "Bates Motel" (A&E), "Harper's Island" (CBS), "Shut Eye" (Hulu) and "Mistresses" (ABC), as well as feature films "Citizen Duane", "Prodigals" and the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival hit "Buffaloed" (directed by Tanya Wexler and starring Zoey Deutch). You may also recognize Nicholas from guest starring appearances on "Motive", "Fringe", "Supernatural", "Designated Survivor" and "V" as well as numerous other prime-time dramas.
