Nate Bartoshuk was born in Redwood City, California where he began acting in high school in local theatre productions. He would train with the ACT San Francisco Young Conservatory before leaving the Bay Area to pursue a BA in Theatre Arts at Pepperdine University, graduating with honors. The List called Nate a "standout" actor in the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the LA Times gave Nate a shoutout for his "good grasp of physicality and little details" while handling the challenges of performing masked during the Covid pandemic as Steve Harrington in Netflix's Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience. Nate has also enjoyed early success and recognition for both his play and screenwriting. While studying at Pepperdine University, his first play, "Call Center" was an official selection for The Road Theatre's 10th Annual Summer Playwrights' Festival in 2018. In 2021, his first feature film, "People Live Here" received the distinction of Semifinalist from The Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting, placing it in the top 1.8% of submissions out of a pool of over 8,000 screenplays.
Nathan Jay Berkus was born on 17 September 1971 in Orange County, California, USA. He began working in interior design straight out of high school and interned at Dominique Aurientis in Paris and Sotheby's in Chicago. He then went on to study at Lake Forest College in Chicago and graduated with degrees in French and Sociology. After college, Nate took a full time job at Leslie Hindman's auction house before beginning his own Chicago-based company, Nate Berkus Associates, in 1995. Nate has won many awards and commendations during his career including: Chicago Social Magazine Design Director 2000, House Beautiful's Next Wave Design Talent 2003, and Craine Business Magazine's 40 Under 40 To Watch 2003. Nate is currently single and lives in Chicago, Illinois, where he runs his own interior design company. He also makes regular guest appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show (1986).
Nate was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee but spent most of his upbringing in Northern California. He attended both Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Valley Christian High School in Dublin, CA. After volunteering as a relief worker in Sudan, where he helped build camps for refugees of the War in Darfur, Nate joined the U.S. Army. Nate joined as an 18X, which gave him the opportunity to attempt Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) immediately following basic combat training and airborne school. He went on to join the Special Forces (Green Berets), deployed multiple times to both Iraq and Afghanistan and was honorably discharged after six years of service.
