Jarod Bainbridge is a director, actor, author, and college film school student. At the age of 6, on a day trip to a friend of his mom's, Jarod was given paper and a pencil to keep himself busy. During the drive, his 2-year-old sister was being fussy in her car seat, so in order to entertain her, Jarod drew pictures on the paper. At the completion of his last picture he announced "Mom, Dad, I wrote a story". This soon became Jarod's first picture book. In the years that followed Jarod wrote his second picture book: The Haunted House, and 2 chapter books: Summer Vacation, and Jake Peterson And His Not So Secret Admirer. While he was a little embarrassed about the subject and the title of his 2nd chapter book, his 3rd-grade teacher loved it and allowed him to read it to his classmates. Soon after, the topic of making his book into a movie came up. He had always wanted to make a movie, but his dad would say it was a lot of work. This time his dad said that if he was willing to do the work, write the screenplay, cast the characters, and direct, then he could make the movie. So over the summer of 2011, Jarod spent almost every day working on the movie. Jarod and his dad would sit at the computer and work on the script chapter by chapter and scene by scene. Since it was his movie, he had to call and schedule his friends and their parents for the scenes as well as get permission to film at the different locations. After 3 long months, he completed the final edits and his 64-minute movie was complete. Not wanting the project to end, Jarod submitted proposals for making his movie into a fundraiser and on November 5th, 2011 his movie was shown at the local UltraStar theater as a school fundraiser for the school's digital library. Over 200 people attended and he made over $800 for his school. Several years after that Jarod started his more formal acting career and attended monthly acting classes and participated in several acting workshops. Jarod is represented in LA by Crackerjack Management and DDO Artists Agency and in San Diego by Elegance Talent and has auditioned and been booked in several commercials as well as many short films and a several small parts in a few TV/streaming shows.
