Jared Kasowski was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but grew up in Vancouver, Washington, a town just outside of Portland on the Washington side of the Columbia River. He was an athlete growing up playing both baseball and soccer throughout his childhood and through high school. Jared received his love of movies from his mother as they would often escape the rainy PNW weather by going to the local theater. The idea of one day being able to become someone else on screen was a dream that was implanted into Jared's brain early on in life even though no one in his family had an artistic bone in their body. As a result, the dream of one day becoming an actor stayed just that, a dream. Jared went on to attend Western Washington University and received his degree in business administration. However, after graduating and going through the process of interviewing for jobs he quickly realized that life in a cubicle from 9 to 5 selling someone else's dream was not in the cards for him, and thus Jared embarked on his journey to become a professional actor. Jared returned to the Portland area to study the craft. He started to audition for local acting roles and was able to secure his debut role in Kelly Reichardt's upcoming film "First Cow". Jared plays Thomas, a small and scowling Junior Fur Company Guard who suffers a lot of abuse and learns to dole it out in turn. Jared hopes to continue to act and build a versatile career for himself. He's his best self on a film set collaborating with incredible artists in order to bring our stories to life on screen.
