James Reynard was born in Kaduna, Nigeria and then moved to the Channel Island of Alderney when he was two years old. He made his professional acting debut in London in a production of David Mamet's "A Life in the Theatre." In 2016, a short film in which he played a hit man, "Nicotine", was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the IndieWise Film Festival awards; in 2018 he played outlaw, Jack of Hearts, in "Red Rose"; for this he won Best Actor (Platinum Award, October) at the Independent Shorts Awards, LA and was nominated as Best Supporting Actor at the Wild Bunch Film Festival, Arizona.
