Colonel Hans Bush is a retired career Special Forces Officer who is now making a name for himself as a Military Technical Advisor with Harry Humphries (GSGI) (Lone Survivor and Jack Reacher 2). He has commanded five times and has multiple combat deployments to include Panama, Haiti, Mali, Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a master static line and extreme high-altitude free-fall parachutist with over 1,000 jumps, Ranger and Special Forces qualified and holds foreign jump wings from Canada, Germany and Tunisia. He is a native of Rochester, New York, and a graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. He holds a Masters Degree in National Security Policy from the United States Army War College. His 30 years of experience have made him an expert in conventional and special operations from the Special Forces Team Room to the Pentagon and all major commands in between. His first Special Forces assignment was with the 7th Special Forces Group where he commanded a 12-man Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha in combat during Operation Just Cause in Panama. Colonel Bush also commanded at the Army's Jungle Warfare Training Center in Panama, served as an instructor in the Special Forces Officer Qualification Course and commanded a Special Forces Operational Detachment B in the 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His other Special Forces assignments include duty at Special Operations Command South in Puerto Rico and at US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg. Colonel Bush's public affairs assignments include serving as the Senior Military Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs in the Pentagon, prior to that assignment he served as the Chief of Public Affairs for the ISAF Joint Command in Kabul, Afghanistan and as Chief of Public Affairs for a classified joint special operations task force in Iraq before assuming duty as the Chief of Public Affairs for US Special Operations Command in Tampa. Colonel Bush has multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11. Some of his awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Master Military Free-fall Badge, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (with oak leaf cluster), and the Meritorious Service Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters).
