Carl Lucas served in the United States Army Infantry from 1992 till 1998. Carl was assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment in Fort Benning, GA and, after attending Airborne School, transferred to Germany where he served under multiple active duty units including the famous 6/502 Infantry unit in Berlin. After his tour overseas, Carl was stationed in Washington DC, with the elite ceremonial unit known as "The Old Guard" serving out the rest of his service with the official title of "Airborne Infantry Squad Leader on Special Assignment as Official Escort to the President", before leaving the Army in May of 1998, having achieved the rank of sergeant. In 2002, Carl completed his first screenplay, The College Program, a comedy based on his experiences in the military. His second screenplay, Hollering Creek, The Legend of La Llorona, earned him a top 100 finalist nod in the HBO original series Project Greenlight. Since then, Carl has written 37 feature screenplays, won awards in several other filmmaking competitions, and garnered numerous writing assignments from multiple production companies. In 2009, Carl's screenplay, Ilegales, was produced by Three Sigma Management. That same year, he created his own production entity, EchoWolf Productions, and produced his first feature film, Don't Blink, starring Mena Suvari, Brian Austin Green and Joanne Kelly. Since then, Carl has provided writing services for companies like Centropolis Entertainment and produced several features, including the feature, The Rambler, which was accepted in the Midnight Section of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. He recently produced the independent horror films Fender Bender and The Field Guide to Evil, Slamdance award winner My Name Is Myeisha and most recently, he wrote and produced The Wave starring Justin Long, Donald Faison and Tommy Flanagan, as well as The Old Way, starring Nicholas Cage, releasing 2022.

Carl was born in Los Angeles, California on December 18, 1978 in the Hollywood area. He attended and graduated from Westchester High School in Los Angeles in June of 1997. Is an only child but has one step brother and one step sister. He loves acting more than writing. He admires the work of Director John Singleton and his films. Started out doing extra work at the age of 16. Didn't really get into acting and writing until the age of 17. In 2000, both his acting and writing career took off.
Captain Carl Watts left home at the age of sixteen to travel America on the back of his Harley. He later put himself thru college and flight school at The University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois by working multiple part time jobs. He was hired as a commercial pilot by Northwest Airlines ( became Delta Airlines) at the age of twenty three and flew all over the world for the next thirty six years. He volunteered for the CRAF ( Civilian Reserve Aircraft Fleet ) program and flew our troops to and from war zones. During his flying years, he enjoyed checking out the best restaurants from Memphis to Manila and also studied acting and stand up comedy. His other passions are mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, organic gardening and classic aircraft. He has four children.
